Local consulate's office comments on Mexico travel warning
DENVER - U.S. officials are warning Americans to avoid non-essential travel to some northern Mexico cities due to drug cartel activity. Although the warning does not apply to southern Mexico resort towns, Mexican Consulate General Office Spokesperson Adriana Valdes knows those resort destinations could still be affected if tourists believe the entire country is unsafe.
